I would also like to acknowledge the BOD for not implementing the trap shuffle. For the shooter, it is a comfort knowing that their fields will not be moved around and they can plan accordingly. Wise move on our leaders part.  Limiting the number of traps early on through Pre-Squading can help alleviate the congestion on the East end.  Open more when the early squads have been inked in.

Well, I’m going to throw my 2 cents worth in also. Bank shuffles, in my opinion, tend to irritate people…me included. the WTA has enough experience to anticipate total squads so, if people like to shoot the East end, just limit the maximum squads in that sector. You’re penalizing those of us that pre-squad for specific traps and early squads due to shelter set-ups. Movement from one end of the trap line to the other would require packing up the gear and driving end to end. Why upset the masses by making participation uncomfortable. You don’t want to take the enjoyment out of attending and competing. I’m in favor of not instituting  a bank rotation procedure.

There seems to be a lot of sensitivity over stepping on other club shooting dates. Why not have it a labor day shoot….either September 2,3 &4th or 3,4 &5th? No other Wisconsin club shoots that weekend. I, for one, have no objections shooting over that period. It would probably benefit securing trap help prior to school starting and the weather is generally nicer the end of August/first of September. I have no idea what problems that date would have. Great weekend to take the family to take in a registered shoot and do some camping out.

That date still looks Ok to me. Would you want a, hopefully, huge WTA three day shoot to be disengaged from it’s published date to accommodate a few smaller one day events? Change the minor clubs dates if that is a problem. Are these clubs within the theoretical arbitrary 50 mile limit? I don’t know but I’d be surprised it would make much of a difference in attendance.

I think the September date is just fine. It is the start of a new shooting year and doesn’t seem to “step on other registered shoots dates” that I can see. We need to throw targets and have better participation for the place to be successful.
