HOME GROUNDS UPDATE – May 9, 2016
1st 2016 Registered Shoot May 6,7,8, 2016
Well, we got what we asked for – warm & sunny – but we received a little wind, too. It wasn’t a problem for Luke Davis! He won the handicap on Saturday with a 93 – at his very first registered shoot ever! Congratulations Luke! John Madsen was high on Friday with a 95. On Sunday, Bruce Wagner, Ken Pardon & Randy Riehle shared the spot with a 93.
The shoot was a success – 305 entries over 3 days.
The Nekoosa kids were not able to be excused from school on Friday so many of our shooters volunteered to help. Several of the WTA Board members were able to help out, too. Thanks to all of you. You’re great! Pistol Pete provided burgers & brats.
Saturday and Sunday the Nekoosa kids did a bang-up job. We received no complaints, and errors were few. They were extremely helpful and very polite. They were under the guidance of Mr. Brian Giese, school board member, who was their leader. Thanks to you all! Brian endured a broken knee on Sunday. We wish him the very best and a quick healing.
We also enjoyed seeing several of our Bunker shooters on Saturday and Sunday.
During the week, Rick and Pam Tesker helped on Wednesday and Thursday putting out gun racks, loading targets into the traps and moving the scoreboards.
Next weekend, May 14-15, the Kettle Moraine SCTP youth championships will be here. Approximately 550 kids will be participating and all traps will be used. What a sight that will be! Several vendors will be there providing food. Come out and see!
Denny is hanging in there, but misses everyone.
