ModeratorHOME GROUNDS UPDATE – June 6, 2016
Jerry Kaszynski was again mowing grass on Thursday. Thanks, Jerry, for your helping out nearly every week!
Bob Ebbers replaced the temporary electric power to the building and helped out at the SCTP shoot over the weekend.
John Coniff arrived on Thursday with more tanks of weed kill and completed the task. He has offered to purchase a load of gravel and will fill in the holes and ruts in the driveways. The entrance driveway really needs help now, especially with the rains we’ve had. Thanks, John.
About 20 kids arrived on Friday to practice bunker shooting for their SCTP State International Championship on Saturday & Sunday. Two of the girls wanted to shoot a 6th time, but the rains came. 26 kids participated in the Championship event on Saturday & Sunday. The rain storms cooperated by holding off until the shoot offs were completed, and trophies were awarded. 14 campers helped to keep them dry. The Bunker Kids left behind not one empty shell, no candy wrappers, water bottles or soda cans. What great kids! Congrats to all shooters!
Trophies were awarded to: Championship team – Hudson Raiders
Men’s Sr. Div. – Champ. Tyler Thiede, 2nd Matt Wells, 3rd Garret Kreul
Ladies Sr. Div. – Champ. Maddie VanderSchaaf, 2nd Meredith Bernau 3rd Kaylee Lancour
Men’s Intermed. Div. – Champ Wyatt Wilken, 2nd Tucker Schuerman
Ladies Intermed. Div. – Champ. Jessica Strasser, 2nd Morgan Clark, 3rd Jessica CiezkiOne interesting note: Riley Meyer is a graduating senior. His grade point average was just under what it should have been to participate in the SCTP. He was informed it would have to improve to stay with the program, and he took it to heart. He is now the recipient of a scholarship for trapshooting from Concordia College, Seward, NE. He will be majoring in Fish & Wildlife. We’re proud of you, Riley, and much good luck in the future!
Trap shooters arrived on all 3 days. 13 kids came from Tomah on Sunday to practice for the big High School Clay Target Championships next weekend (June 11th).
Congratulations to all! And a big thank you to Gary & Dave Desmidt & Perry Hintz for their dedication to our sport by coaching and organizing this event.
Thanks to all for your help!
