Reports

Bruce: Bruce started out with the update for the Homegrounds. Things are moving along now that the weather is cooperating. He reported that the shoots that were hosted at the Homegrounds on June 7-8 went really well. The STP shoot went well. The qualifier at the bunker shoot went well and they were full with 30 shooters. The training went well with the students that showed up to work the shoot. Adam has also turned over the video to the coaches so that they can train the rest of the students. It would be nice to have a few volunteers to help with the kids the first day of the state shoot just to settle them in. The food venders did a good job. The campgrounds is looking good and shower house should be done soon. Once the showers get done we will be able to open the campgrounds. The work weekend went fine but although there was not a very good turn out they still managed to get things done. There is much more that can be done. Pods will be coming soon so we can start setting things up. He was working on P.A. System for the state shoot. Things are starting to green up out at the Homegrounds. If the rain keeps up we should have to cut grass soon which will be good because this should cut down on the dust this year. We have received a grant for advertising from the state of Wisconsin. This should be helpful to promote the campgrounds. He also asked when we will get Dennis a credit card to use. Eric said he was working on it and asked what limit to put on it. The board agreed that a $1000 limit would work so Eric is getting that going. He talked about looking toward the future of the Homegrounds and everyone should be looking into the future finding things that will work for organizing shoots with Dennis so that the Homegrounds starts getting used for what it is attended for. Things like company outings and other organized shoots.

Around the table

Don: He talked to Fritz and the roof should be put on the shower house as soon as Wednesday. We are in need for a golf cart to be kept at the Homegrounds for Dennis to use to get back and forth quicker around the complex. Don talked about getting the final numbers on the golf carts and that they are ordered and will be delivered. He asked about the insurance for the golf carts. There was talk about maybe needing to get proof of insurance from those who have rented them. He was looking into this further along with Bill. He also talked about Fritz Thistle who is working on getting a tent set up at the grand so we can have a Wisconsin shooters night at the grand. He said a tent could cost about $500 and was wondering if maybe other states might be interested in using the tent on other nights that way it would be used more then just one night. Don asked Rick if he would talk to other state ATA delegates to see if they were interested in this. Don was wondering where should we send the raffle stubs and money. Bruce asked Eric if he would collect them and Eric said he would take care of it.

Rick: The pins for the state shoot have come he received 800 of them and said there would be 200 more coming soon. He was asked to look into other state ATA delegates to see if they were interested in sharing a tent at the grand. The tent would be used to set up a get together for all Wisconsin shooters, their family and friends on Wednesday Night during Grand week. Fritz Thistle is trying to organize the get together if you would like to be involved in helping him organize please contact him. Other states could also use it as a gathering spot for their shooters too. Each state using the tent a different night. Rick also wanted to know when the pods would be at the Homegrounds so that he could contact Michelle so she could come and get started setting up.

Glenn: Beer truck has been ordered and also a bartender. It will be open every night from 4-9pm. The beer will be set up by the tents for local convenience.

Kevin: He has been working on organizing things for the zone shoots. Getting things organized so if need be others could do this or help with it. There was talk then about the zone shoots and how the zones are set up. There are a few shooters on borders that were in question and was wondering if we should look into maybe putting county stickers on cards. It was talked about but there were only a few shooters on borders and figured it would not be necessary to do it. It was said that it looks like the attendance is down at zone shoots this year.

Bill: Bill reported that the training went well on June 7-8, the students that showed up to learn were very easily taught and willing to follow what needed to be done. He has given the video to the coaches so that the students that could not make it to the training will be able to learn by watching the video. Bill talked about the golf cart insurance and how we were going to work it. Don was going to ask the golf cart rental how they work it. Vendor row will be full this year. It is one of our best years for vendors. Fish Fry will be on Friday of the state shoot. Not sure of the price per plate.

Theresa: I have been working on the Annual Meeting Program and asked Bruce to send me the agenda and president’s letter when he is finished with them. I let Eric know that I had sent him the invoice for state booklets so that he would be able to pay it right away. I was asked to look into the list of donors for the Homegrounds so that we can start working on getting recognition out there for those who have supported the Homegrounds thus far. I also got word from Sarah Adams that the Banquet will be held at the Ridges Golf Course. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.

FREE TME: Things that need to be done out at Homegrounds yet: Picnic tables, shelters, angle brackets on the trap houses. If you find yourself in need of something to do go see the Homegrounds and see where they might need help!!

Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm.

Next meeting: The next Teleconference meeting will be on July 9, 2014 at 6:30. We will have a Face to Face meeting on July 12, 2014 at 8:00 am at the Homegrounds.
