Reports

RV Shows: Dennis went to four RV shows and gave away brochures for the Homegrounds. The shows were in Madison, Milwaukee,Wausau and Minnesota. He went through at least 1100 brochures between all the shows. He has had a overwhelming good response so far at the shows. Many people sounded very excited about the RV park and shooting complex. He is hoping these shows will help get the Homegrounds campsites full in early spring.

Bruce: Bruce said he talked to a event sponsors from last year. Adams Engineering &Surveying will sponsor Doubles Class Championship again this year. Thank you to them for their sponsorship for this event at the state shoot. If any one is interested in sponsoring you could contact one of the Directors. It was brought to Bruce’s attention that the cashiering contract from Mueller Technologies is to open ended. We are hoping to pin down a specific price at the next face to face meeting. They are also hoping to look into the need for the social security number at the state shoot this year, this will be discussed further at the face to face meeting. He has a call in for the tents for the state shoot but has not heard back yet. The banquet this year will be held most likely at the Homegrounds because the other places are already booked.

Dennis: Dennis has been working on setting up a bank account and address for the Homegrounds. The address for now will be a PO box till a mail box can be put in at the facility. The address is Homegrounds RV Park Inc.,1312 Akron Drive, PO Box 7, Nekoosa, WI 54457. He has also been working on quotes on the buildings for the Homegrounds. He is hoping to have most of them before the face to face meeting so the board can look them over. Dennis also has meetings set up for a credit card account. Also he was invited to a meeting with other organizations in the area to brainstorm some marketing ideas for the State of Wisconsin has to offer. He felt it was great that they included the WTA in this meeting. The plan is to start the work out at the Homegrounds as early as mid- April in hopes to have things ready to open sometime in May. The work should also begging in Mid April on the bunker it needs wiring and traps put in. Dennis has also been working on lining things up for the state shoot like gulf carts and outside bathrooms. Dennis was wondering who will do the add for the Trap and Field magazine, it needs to be sent in soon, they were going to ask the marketing committee. He also is working on a price for wireless speakers sets from Brian Pierce for a few practice traps. Dennis asked the board how many of the mics they would like to buy from Brian Pierce for the Homegrounds. The board members agreed to get 60 speakers. They thought this would give the Homegrounds good backups for the state shoot.

Don: Don has been working on arranging Gulf carts for the state shoot. Don talked with Kolar Arms they will sponsor the Wisconsin Singles Championship at the state shoot this year. He also talked to Dudley and Tami Larson who will again sponsor the WTA Youth Program. Thank you for your sponsorship.

Glenn: Glenn reported that the WTA was picked to receive 25,000 dollar grant from the Friends of the NRA. This was voted on between 26 local chapters at their state convention. This will be used for the training center. We would like to thank the Friends of the NRA for this grant. He also called Rick Wilder about the PAT traps, they will be 7150 per trap. We will be getting 20 PAT traps for about $143,000. They will be picked up by the first of May, would like a check by April 14.

Theresa: I received an email from Tami Daniel offering the Trapshooting Hall of Fame Contributor Purse and award program wondering if we would be offering it at our state shoot this year. I brought it up to the board and they all agreed we would do this again so I sent off the email for our participation in the program. I also received a package with posters and raffle tickets from the ATA and EZGO. I am< going to bring all of the information to the face to face meeting.

Manager: There was a lot of things brought up when the directors were talking about the job description and compensation for the manager. There is a lot that has to be considered for this position. The Board of Directors are working on details of the managers job so they can have everything ready for when Dennis Taylor starts his position. They are hoping to get most of the details done at the face to face meeting. Eric is looking into how we will be doing the payroll for this position.

Rest of Directors who were on had nothing to report.
