WTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Teleconference Meeting January 20,2014
The 01/20/2014 teleconference meeting of the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association Board of Directors was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by President Bruce Stiteley. Directors on line were, SE: Don Mittag, Gary Fechter, SW: Dennis Taylor, Adam LePine, NW: Glenn Hamerly, NE: Dave Wehmeir, absent, Delegate Rick Tesker , 1st Alt. Delegate Kevin Doerring and 2nd Alt. Delegate Dwight Paulin, Treasurer Eric Tesker and Secretary Theresa Howland. Not present Vice Pesident Bill Simonar and NE Dave Wehmeir.
Meeting started at 6:30 pm
Bruce: Bruce was invited to the first Board of directors of the Homegrounds on Saturday January 18,2014. He reported that the board picked officers. Richard Johnson will be president. Glenn Hamerly will be Vice President. Jessica Fandrich will be the secretary. The board of directors then interviewed candidates for the managers position. They have chosen Dennis Taylor as the manager of the Homegrounds. Congratulations to the appointed officers and to Dennis there is a lot of work for all this year.
Bruce also discussed that Michelle Mueller of Mueller Technologies will be at the face to face meeting on Saturday. This will give the Board of directors a chance to ask questions on how things will be run at the state shoot. This will hopefully help so the state shoot will run smooth for everyone. Bruce met with Randy Olsen to get estimates on the irrigation and seeding of grass from the trap houses to the sidewalks. The estimate came in at $100,000 this will be further discussed at the Saturday meeting. Last thing was the corporation papers are being processed and turned into the state.
Dennis: Dennis is working on estimates and blue prints for buildings at the Homegrounds. He is hoping to have a good idea of what will be needed for the loan. He is working hard to have these estimates for the meeting on Saturday. He also that the first RV show will be January 31, February 1 and 2. The board of directors of the Homegrounds has worked on getting brochures for this show. So it looks like we are heading in the right direction for the camping on the Homegrounds. Dennis is also working on events at the Homegrounds. On June 7, 2014 there will be an ATV Rally there are many details to work out. Also there will be a Youth Shoot on May 17, 2014 this also is being worked on.
Don: Don reported that he received a few emails about the changes that were made on the WTA website. Some viewers are having trouble emailing the directors. The directors will look in to this and hopefully we will get this problem fixed. Don asked Eric if the check for $1000 to Scott Young, and Eric reported that this check will be sent out on Tuesday. This was payment for the workers on the food vender area.
Glenn: Glenn reported that Jean Osgood will be coming to the January 25 meeting. She will be reporting the updates of the food venders for the state shoot. He also mentioned the NRA convention is on February 7, 8, 9 he was going to have a banner made up to hang at the convention advertising the new Homegrounds. The board approved the banner purchase at a cost of $180. This will be great advertising for the Homegrounds. He also asked to hand out a few hats and cozies at the convention. This was also approved by the board.
Eric: Eric received a letter about the ATA state shoot trophy’s wondering where to deliver them. Dennis said he would take that delivery because no one would be at the Homegrounds to receive them.
Raffle: The WTA received a donation of a guns from Jack Morris and the NRA for a raffle. This will be a winter raffle.There will also be a prize of free two day camping at the Homegrounds or $100. Also tickets for the WTA banquet or $70. Tickets will be distributed to board members on Saturday.
