WTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Teleconference Meeting October 7, 2013
The 10/07/2013 teleconference meeting of the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association Board of Directors was called to order at 6:32 p.m. by President Bruce Stiteley. Directors on line were SE: Don Mittag, Gary Fechter, SW: Adam LePine, Dennis Taylor, NW: Glenn Hamerly, NE: Bill Simonar, Delegate Rick Tesker, Alt. Delegate Dwight Paulin and Kevin Doerring. Treasurer Eric Tesker and Secr. Arlene Otto.
REPORTS:
Eric: Bruce asked Eric about the transition of the Treasurer. Eric reported that all was in order with the bank and had completed the last bank statement. He reported on an invoice from Coca-Cola. Connie had contracted for the product and it could be part of the $4000.00 she had turned over. Don felt the Youth Group should be responsible for it. The Board will confer with her at the next Board Meeting on October 19.
Bruce reported that he and Dennis were working with Team Engineering on contracts for the campgrounds and landscaping. Work should begin in 1-2 weeks. Bids will be accepted for 14’x17′ concrete slabs for 15 shelters. Sidewalks squares broken by trucks will be repaired.
Don said that Waukesha Gun Club declined the Zone Shoot because of the $1800.00 trophy monies required. Boxhorn Gun Club declined because of only 4 traps. Don will contact Beaver Dam for the SE Zone Shoot. He wanted to clarify Zone Shoot minimum target requirements: 2013-14 combined – 700 16 yd., 700 Handicap and 400 Doubles – New shooters: 200, 200, 100. The number of required traps is 4. Zone info will be sent this week to the 3 clubs conducting the 2014 Zone Shoots.
Don also said that no State Shoot winners’ pictures would be in Trap & Field. Ken Cerney had sent Trap & Field a CD of the pictures, but it cannot be located.
Don & Dennis attended the WATVA Assoc. Convention at Dyracuse where they met with many state & county officials and riders. They had displays of our site. Prior to the meeting, they met with GEC to discuss the exterior of the Training Center Building. To qualify for the NRA grant, they ordered doors, windows and the lower level of stone. This needed to be done by Oct. 1.
Glenn copied the WTA Board members on a proposal from the Friends of Library at Rome to vendor ice cream at the next state shoot. We are open for proposals. The financials of vending was discussed and tabled to the next meeting.
Builders Risk Ins. needs the total cost of the building and approximate completion date. Dennis will get this to Glenn.
Glenn reported he, Jeff Ebel and Jessica (GEC) will be attending the NRA banquet and have displays set up.
Dennis said that Jolene at GEC will have a preliminary drawing for the interior of the building for the next meeting. GEC was able to get us in the Marketing Group for Wisconsin Dells. Discover Wisconsin will feature our Homegrounds on March 8 & 9 and will run again in the next two years. It will run concurrently with Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding area. He also said that the Rome Planning Commission approved of all the plans that he submitted to them. Seeding will be done early next spring, and further discussed at the next meeting.
Rick had nothing to report from the ATA.
Gary asked Dennis to check with Jessica on the possibility of the WTA receiving any of the $500,000. grant money that was cancelled and being open to other smaller groups promoting hunting and outdoor sports.
Bill will be mailing out the camping and vending application forms this week.
Adam will have trapline training info next meeting.
Bruce asked Eric to send a six months payment to Ken Koepp for storage rental.
