WTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Teleconference Meeting May 31, 2013

The 5/31/2013 teleconference meeting of the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association Board of Directors was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by President Bruce Stiteley. Directors on line were SE: Don Mittag, Gary Fechter, SW: Dennis Taylor, Ken Cerney, NE: Bill Simonar, NW: Glenn Hamerly, Alt. Delegates Rick Tesker and Secr./Treas. Arlene Otto. Absent: Gary Strasser, Dwight Paulin.

Bruce Stiteley and Dennis Taylor Reports:
12 Trap houses had been delivered by John Reeb. 1 crane was being delivered to place the houses in the holes. Badger Environmental will be delivering an excavator on Monday. Dudley Larson will be delivering the balance of the trap houses during the week. Jim Grunewald is sending 3 men and equipment to dig the holes for the trap houses. Chuck Hilgendorf will be there to set and test the first house so that they will all be identical down the line. Van Ert will begin the following week with electrical.

Campers will be directed to park in Vendors row and in the parking lot. Water and electric will be available to the campers.

Adams Columbia Co-op will be installing the electrical entrance. The WTA paid them $62,000.00 to do so. When the electrical meter is set the Town of Rome inspector needs to inspect it. The electrical entrance will be buried within 2 weeks.

Stump grinding will be completed prior to the State Shoot. Majority of the landscape will be done following the State Shoot.

Work Week – coming week, beginning Monday, June 3rd. Everyone welcome to come, bring rakes, hatchets, saws.

The number of loaned traps is 22. Dennis asked each director if they had checked with ALL gun clubs in their zone for more traps to borrow. We cannot run the shoot without trap machines and we do not have the funds to purchase the 10 originally ordered. Rick Tesker very generously spoke up and said he would loan the WTA the $71,000.00 needed to purchase them. Glen Hammerly immediately called the Metro Gun Club to see if it was possible to get them produced prior to the State Shoot. Their response was that if they could get the check immediately, they promised to have them ready for pick up by Dudley Larson by July 10.

Gary Fechter and Ken Cerney are getting the cut prefabricated wood to build the gun racks and score stands.

Insurance was again discussed. Glen reported Mike Martin, and insurance agent, suggested we check with the NRA as they can offer more.

Next Meeting is Teleconference on Monday, June 10 at 6:30pm. Arlene was directed to email agenda on Monday, 6/3 and again on Friday, June 7 to make sure all directors are in attendance. She will email in Word, Word Perfect, PDF, and snail mail same to Strasser & Paulin.

Respectfully submitted,
Arlene Otto – Sec./Treas.
