Jim Berry

Jim Berry of the Eau Claire gun club will be missed by many shooters. In his lifetime, he shot at 96,000 registered targets. The Wisconsin Trapshooting Association is thankful for his efforts in starting off the Fundraising Banquets nine years ago. Prior to that, his club also donated the annual monies raised from wildlife prints every year for our Homegrounds fund.
We all benefited from the free beer that his club donated at the banquets. At the State Shoot a few years back, Jim’s sons: Jason, Tom & Scott, and 2 grandsons, Ryan and Mike, all shot on the same squad, the three sons shooting at their 25,000 handicap targets. Jim would have been shooting at his 50,000 targets along with them that day, but was prevented from participating due to severe illness. Jim started the Youth Group at his club in 1995 with 26 kids. This has grown to over 60 with his son, Jason, taking over the group. Jim always greeted everyone with a smile and those smiles will be missed.
